The founding mission of Yale SOM is to educate leaders for business and society and this mission informs everything we do. In service of the mission, there are three defining characteristics of the MBA program at Yale SOM. First, when you join Yale SOM you are joining Yale University and all the resources and benefits that come along with being at a world-renowned institution. For MBA students, this is highlighted best by your second year which is comprised entirely of elective courses that can be taken in any Yale classroom throughout the University without limit, allowing you to customize your curriculum. Second, at Yale SOM you will be part of an international community with broad interest in how all societies around the globe are bound together. For this reason, all MBA students are required to take part in international study by choosing a program like our International Experience courses or Global Social Entrepreneurship courses. Third, our first-year curriculum is unique among business school programs. Our Integrated Curriculum is designed to give you an understanding of the whole organization and you will need to understand the perspectives of various stakeholders. We believe you will make better decisions this way rather than looking at concepts through a single disciplinary lens. The capstone course, The Executive, requires you to apply all the concepts you have learned as you take the CEO’s point of view and tackle major challenges.
