A total of 44 Master’s students from 17 nationalities came to IE Business School to represent 13 leading business schools and engage in intensive study about holistic leadership during the Global Network Week.

Global Network Week, organised by the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM), offers students and faculty the opportunity to pursue intensive study at any partnering institutions among which are IE Business School (Spain), HEC Paris in France, Koç University in Türkiye, Bocconi University in Italy, Yale School of Management in the United States, Renmin Business School in China, and others.

IE Business School hosted the week under the theme “Holistic Leadership: From Purpose to Impact”. In the 21st century, the need for a different type of leader has emerged: one who is grounded in their values, who has the ability to care for themselves and others, and who is committed to making a positive impact in their communities and the world. To prepare for becoming those leaders, participating students attended classes focused on the core pillars of the Center for Health & Well-being (Vitality), Mind (Focus) and Soul (Purpose).

The week provided opportunities for connection with self and others, for introspection and listening and for challenge and intention to create healthy habits,” said Lisa Bevill, Director of IE Center for Health & Well-being.

During the week, participants divided into groups had to craft a detailed deliverable outlining their vision for leadership and the design of the path forward which they shared with their peers in the final session.

The most incredible, and unexpected, aspect was making great friends as I met classmates from the most prestigious business schools across the world that shared GNAM with me,” said Wesley Bell, MBA candidate from Graduate School of Business in the University of Cape Town.

IE Business School stands proudly among the 32-member business schools and fulfils the mission of connecting students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other constituencies so that they can help create responsible and forward-thinking business professionals of the future.
