Darden’s Part-Time MBA format, based in the Washington, D.C., area, offers busy working professionals the opportunity to earn the world-class Darden MBA in a convenient evening-based schedule.
Hybrid in design and consisting of in-person and virtual components, the Part-Time MBA features a cohort-based core curriculum followed by an elective period. During the elective period, students have the flexibility to speed up or slow down their course of study as their life and career demands, completing the program in anywhere from 28 to 48 months. The standard pacing for the program is 33 months.
Students also participate in two week-long residencies on the main grounds of the Darden School in Charlottesville, one at the beginning of the program and another after the completion of the core curriculum. Part-Time MBA students may participate in a global elective during the fall of their second year.
There is no work experience minimum for the Part-Time MBA, but we expect most students will have at least two years of professional work experience prior to matriculation. At Darden, the full work experience profile for a typical Part-Time MBA class ranges from 2 to 10+ years, with an average of 6 years of work experience.
